Your privacy is not just a legal obligation to us — it is a core design principle. Pocket Luthier was built from the ground up to operate without collecting, storing, or transmitting any personal data.
The Intonation Assistant uses your device's microphone to analyze the pitch of your guitar strings in real time.
All audio processing happens entirely on your device. No audio data, recordings, frequency readings, or any derivative of your microphone input is ever transmitted to a server, stored in a database, or shared with any third party — at any time, for any reason.
Microphone access is requested only when you choose to use the tuning tool. You may revoke this access at any time using the "Revoke Mic Access" button within the tool, or through your browser's site settings. When access is revoked, all audio processing stops immediately.
We do not use your microphone for any purpose other than the pitch analysis feature you explicitly activate.
Pocket Luthier does not collect, store, or process any of the following:
All tool data — such as Hz readings captured during a session — exists only in your browser's memory for the duration of your visit and is permanently discarded when you close or refresh the page. Nothing is saved. Nothing leaves your device.
Pocket Luthier loads fonts from Google Fonts to render the site's typography. This means your browser makes a request to Google's servers when the page loads, which may be subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Beyond this, no third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or data-sharing services are used on this site. We do not run ads. We do not sell data. We do not have data to sell.
Guitar setup is a skilled craft. While Pocket Luthier strives to provide accurate, helpful guidance, every instrument is different — variations in build quality, age, string gauge, neck geometry, and hardware can all affect the outcome of any adjustment.
The tools and guides on this site are intended to assist and inform, not to replace the judgment of a qualified professional. Pocket Luthier makes no warranty, express or implied, as to the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose of any content or tool on this site.
In no event shall Pocket Luthier, its creators, or contributors be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including damage to your instrument — resulting from the use of or reliance on any information or tool provided on this site.
This policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the site following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
